Changes to my study programme

Hi! In this opportunity i want talk about my career and some changes that I would do to the study programme of Journalism. The truth is that the curriculum of my career is not very good. It have subjects in 3^rd year that it should be in previous years. For example, “Radio”, “Derecho a la información” o some subjects of fundaments of television should be before.

But, in this year in the ICEI changed the curriculum and changed the order and positioning of some subjects. For example, the subjects previously mentioned now are in first or second year of the career. Also, the ICEI added other subjects very interesting, as some related with the history and with the economy. This new order and the new courses are only for the new students (mechones) that entered this year to the career.

With respect to the length of the career I think that it is not very long, as medicine, engineering or odontology. But neither is a short degree, as a technical career for example. I think that Journalism have the precise amount of years of duration.

With respect the use of the technology… This is a little lacking! And this situation is specially in the computer labs, where we don’t have very good equipment and internet service.

And, finally, respect the teaching methods I think that every teacher has her own teaching method and it is we who must adapt. This is how in each section of the same course we do different things, because are different the teaching methods of the teachers.

My next holidays!

Hi! In this opportunity i want talk about my next holidays. But… This is almost a joke! Jajaja In my next “holidays” I hope work in my professional practice. I want begin it in January, but I don’t know if it will be possible, because the classes in the ICEI end in the last week of the same month. For this reason I don’t know what will happen in this end of year and in the next year.

I really want to do my practice in radio in this summer. I don’t know still in what radio will I do or, even, if really I will do in radio or in other media. In any case, work in summer is terrible! Because it is very hot and there are bad odors on the bus and subway.

I don’t will can go out to any place in this holiday. Maybe, some weekend I going to go to Concón to see my family and go to the beach. But, I think most of the time I will be working.

On the other hand, I don’t can think in the activities that I will do in my holidays, because I don’t know if I will have too much free time after the work. Maybe in weekends go to parties, to the cinema, to the stadium, etc.

Post graduate studies

Hi! In this opportunity i want talk about my future post graduates studies. I’ am a student of fourth year of Journalism. I end my degree in 2017 (I hope), but I don’t know what I will do when I end this period.

I have thought a bit about my future and I would like work in radio and in something related to the cumbia, my great passion.

I have thought also in that I would like do my professional practice in this summer and continue studying and working (I hope) in 2017. But, I also want to travel to Brazil to see my family, as I told in an earlier post.

 With respect to study in the future… I don’t know! I would like find some master’s degree in cumbia, but this does not exist! Jajaja Or also I would like study some master’s degree in investigation or cultural journalism.

This would serve me for can do investigations in themes of my interests, as the cumbia. I would like very much can write a book of cumbia in Chile. Actually there are a book of cumbia, but this only speaks about the years 1960 to 1989. I would like can write about what happened since 1990 to now, with the development of the cumbia of “Sonora”, sound cumbia, tropical cumbia and the new Chilean cumbia.

My future job

Hi! In this opportunity i want talk about my future job. The truth is that since for a many years, since that I was a child, I have wanted be in the world of the communications.

I have always liked all related to the communications. When I was a child I liked some TV program, as Cachureos, El Club de los Tigritos and Mekano. When I grew and until now my passion is related with the radio.

Is for this reason I want my future job to be in the radio. This job can be in the sport journalism or in a entertainment radio.

But, why have this two side opposed as a future job? First, because I like the sport journalism and this is an opportunity that I not dismiss. But, mi great passion, as told you before, is the cumbia and tropical music, and for this reason my future job I want to be in a radio of this type, as Radio Corazón.

This job would be indoors, because I would work inside of the radio. For the same reason, I not would travel much. As to the salary I not have much ideas, but I imagine that this will be good, I hope it reaches me for what I need jajaja 

My favourite music!

Hi! In this opportunity i want talk about my favourite type of music. As you know my favourite music is the Cumbia, specifically the Cumbia tropical chilena (the Chilean tropical cumbia), with bands like Noche de Brujas, Jordan, Américo, La Noche; and the classic cumbia, with bands like La Sonora de Tommy Rey, Sonora Palacios and Los Viking’s 5. But, of all this group my favourite is Noche de Brujas (Cúmbialo).

My love for the cumbia was born when I was a child and my mom and my dad listened this type of music my house. They bought cassette of different group of cumbia and we listened it always.

 

When I grew I listened music of different types, like metal, rock and electro. But, when I grew even more I decided totally for the cumbia.

My love for the cumbia grew also since I began listen Radio Corazón, a Chilean radio station with a lot of music of this type. In this Radio and in my smartphone I listen cumbia everyday and this is part of my everyday routine.

Like this, I have gone to a lot of concerts of cumbia since, approximately, 2013.

I am eternally grateful for this musical heritage, this great taste for the cumbia that grew and grew through the years. What would become of me without cumbia?

Cúmbialo

Hi! In this opportunity i want talk about the best concert in my life. The truth is that for me is very difficult choose only one concert as my favourite, because I’ve been to many and all are for me very very important.

But, first tell you that all my concerts were of cumbia (tropical music), and more specifically of band Noche de Brujas.

This is a group that I follow since 2013 when I knew him better in the event “La Gran Noche de la Corazón”, of Radio Corazón, because before I had only heard some of his songs in the radio.

Since this moment I have been in 11 concerts of Noche de Brujas, in the Movistar Arena, in the Teatro Caupolicán, in the Estadio Bicentenario La Florida and the Quinta Vergara, for the Festival de Viña del Mar.

Are different stages but for me all have been very important, for all that “la Bruja” means to me and because in nine of eleven of this concerts I have been with my mom.

My favourite place to eat!

Hi! In this opportunity i want talk about my favourite place to eat. I should say that my favourite place is in my house, with my mom or, if I am alone, listen to radio o watch any movie or news in the tv.

But, if we talk about the favourite place that is not my house (or the house of you) I tell you that my choice is the “Corbata”.

The “Corbata” is a restaurant located in one of the main street of San Bernardo (street San José) and the speciality of the house is the hotdogs.

The “Italiano gigante” measures 50 centimeters and you can add it sauce of cheese, garlic or the tipic condiments, like mustard, chilli or ketchup. The prices are not very cheap, but are accessible for all.

This restaurant is special for the lunch hour or for the moment of leave of the party, because in front of Corbata there are a discotheque and a pub.

I recommend the Corbata always, for the good prices, the quantity of food for this price and for the quality of food.

Dear Brazil

Hi!

I am Felipe Barra Del Río and in this opportunity i want talk about the place that I want visit when I end my degree.

The country I would like to know is Brazil, because is a very beautiful place in the world, with people very happy, wonderful beach and incredible landscapes.

But, this is not all reason to go to Brazil, because also I have family in Sao Paulo and I want to go for know them. I have never seen my mom´s uncle and mi mom does not see the uncle Aldo since she was 14.

Will be very emotional when I can see and when my mom can have a reencounter with he and she can see too.

I want too go over many places in this country like Sao Paulo, Rio de Janeiro, Brasilia, Salvador de Bahia, for example.

This trip to Brazil I will do approximately in the end of 2017 or in 2018, when I finish my degree and I have enough money to go.

My blogging experience

My blogging experience

Hi! In this opportunity i want talk about my blogging experience. That i can tell of this great experience. First I took this challenge lightly, as a work more to make during the semester, but over time I realized that serves as a means for can tell about interesting matters that not always we have.

I value this experience of write in the blog as a space for can tell what I want, with respect, but what I want. As well as, I value it as a space where I can tell what I wish, without embarrassment and without limits.

I liked can write about matters so interesting and important as my favourite piece of technology, my pets (that I love so much), mi favourite picture, films and important things about my degree.

One of the matters that more like me write was about my pets. My goose, my dog and my cat are very beautiful and I love you very much. They are very lovings and I always play with they. They are a part very important of my life and write about they was really a nice experience.

Other matters that i liked me so much write was everything related to my degree. Por example, about why I chose Journalism or whom is the favourite subject in this semester.

I hope that the school year in the future see the realization of this blog as important and, at the same time, entertaining, and they not see as a load more in the semester or they do only for accomplish. Enjoy it!

Books!

Books!

Hi! In this opportunity i want talk about… books! The truth is that i am not very good Reading, i am not read so much. And it is because I am very deconcentrated and I find it hard pay attention in what I am reading. Well, this until a time, because this year it has cost me much less can read what like me, since news in websites to books.

When i studied in the school or in the high school I read the books that teachers say us, but this were not so many. And during my four years in the university I not read any very interesting book, only some books about Journalism in the start of the degree, in the first year.

That i show this year i can read again “El Principito”, a book that I read in my infancy and that I read again a lot of times more. Also this year I can read a book about one of things that more like me: the football soccer.

It was a book of story of football of Argentinian writer Eduardo Sacheri, and it is titled “La vida que pensamos”. It relates stories very entertaining around football, any of happiness, others of sadness, but all very interesting.

If i had choose a book for recommend are this two books, obviously. And, of course, “Simplemente Gary” of Chilean journalis Cristián Arcos Morales. This book relates the life of Gary Alexis Medel Soto, the “crack” of the Chilean national team.

Hi! In this opportunity i want talk about my reasons for choose this degree. And the truth is that always liked me Journalism, always. First this began as a taste for the communications in general when I was a child.

Later, when i was in the high school began my taste for de radio, taste that i maintain until now. In this moment I liked more the entertainment in the radio, not so much the journalism or the information. Later, I got love for the journalism.

I am passionate about the idea of can accompany to the people when they listen to radio, at home, in the car, in the bus.

I like the sport journalist, but also i like the entertainment journalism. My objective is can work in both spaces at the same time. I hope can transmit the thrills of sports and the happiness through the radio.

My favourite subject?...

My favourite subject?...

Hi! In this opportunity i want talk about my favourite subject in this semester, this course that i enjoy in this first six month of the year. But, i have a problem… I haven’t some favourite subject!

However, my favourite subject I had it in the previous year, in his two semesters: Radio. This is really my favourite subject and my really field where i want work in the Journalism.

In the two semesters that i had Radio in 2015, i learnt many things about this field of work. For example, i learnt write especially for radio and record this material in audio.

In this semester i haven’t some favourite subject, but “Periodismo de Televisión” is a course interesting for work. In this subject we did a program of television about series of TV. This program had only one chapter with “Compadre Moncho” as interviewee.

It was entertaining, because i was working in the switch joined to director of program and selecting the camera that aired. But, even in this case i prefer the radio… This is definitely i like!

My favourite website!

Hi! In this opportunity i want talk about my favourite website related with my degree. Is for this reason that i want talk about two website: cooperativa.cl and prensafutbol.cl. This website are related directly with the journalism, because they are news website.

The first portal is the website of Radio Cooperativa, an informative radio station that gives us news in written format there. But too we can listen the radio online in this website, and too we can listen sound recording and videos noted.

The second portal is a website of football information. All details of national teams and players, and football international too, i find it there.

This are my two website that i more visit. I consider that is very important look press every day, for we can be informed. In my case, I like see and read news in this two website, in my computer or in my smartphone when i am in the bus road to the University or my house.

My favourite movies!

My favourite movies!

Hi! In this opportunity i want talk about my favourite movies. Really isn’t very difficult tell which are my favourite movies, because I like it since many years: the trilogy of Batman of Director Cristopher Nolan; and the saga of Harry Potter.

I like other movies too, of action, romantic, adventure, superhero’s movies and books adaptations, for example. However, Batman and Harry Potter are the movies (and sagas) that more like me. I can see it many times and i can follow see it.

Within the others movies that i like me, i can name films as The Shawshank Redemption, Sherlock Holmes, Jurassic World and many cartoons movies.

I don’t like many series, because i haven’t time for can see it. Generally i am studying in the University or in my house; or too i can be doing things in my house, as wash the crockery or give food to my pets; or simply i can be see a match of soccer in the tv.

Cúmbialo... But in caricature!

In this opportunity i want to talk about one of my favourite photos. But it isn’t a photo, is a caricature. And is one of my favourite because it makes me remember a date very important for me.

On July 12, 2014 it has been made the event La Gran Noche de la Corazón, concert of celebration of anniversary of Radio Corazón.

Since 2013 I go to this event with my mom and I remember that in 2014 was spectacular, with Noche de Brujas as one of principal artist of the night.

But, I too remember with love this picture because is the caricature of a photography that like me very much. It was when the event ended.

The image has in his background a poster of the radio station I like very much and my mother took me the photo. But, my friend José Chaparro Medina was who transformed it in a caricature. Thank you very much for this my friend!

I love animals!

I love animals!

I like so much the animals. Dogs, cats and birds are my favourite kind of animals. With my family we had three dogs and one fish since I born… and that i remember! Now in my house with my mother we have one dog, that it’s called Duke; a cat, that it’s called Peludo; and a goose, that it’s called Alex.

Duke arrived 16 years ago, I don’t remember so much in that year. Peludo arrived at our house in summer of 2013. And Alex arrived in october of 2012.

With my mom we not have preference of one on top of other, we love them to all for equal!

I hope with all my heart to have them a lot of years more, for like this we with my mom can enjoy them forever.

My favorite piece of technology

Hi! I want tell you about my favorite piece of technology: smartphone.

This device is a cell phone with access to internet, applications for various works and games, among other things.

I got my smartphone in December 2016 as a present in Christmas. But, my first device with this features I got in 2012.

I use my smartphone for look my social networks, as Facebook, Twitter and Instagram. Too I use it for read news in the public transport and play my music. But the most important is that I use my phone for talk with my family and my friends. Is for this reasons that I like use the smartphone.

Without the smartphone the life would not have the benefits that today have.

My name is Felipe Barra Del Río, welcome to my blog. In Cúmbialo Inglés 3 you will found, first, information about his creator: I. Later, you will can visit my blog for read about various themes along this year.

I was born on December 23, 1993 in the Hospital Parroquial de San Bernardo, in Chile. Yes, one day before that Christmas.

I study the stage of basic school in the Escuela Escritora Marcela Paz, in San Bernardo. On the other hand, i study the stage of high school in the Liceo Politécnico Ciencia y Tecnología, in La Cisterna. Actually i’am studying the career of Journalism in the Instituto de la Comunicación e Imagen of the Universidad de Chile.

I live with my mom in San Bernardo, and my dad lives in Concón with my grandmother. In my house too live my dog, my cat and my goose. Also, too live with us my grandmother and grandfather for side of my mom, and with one aunt and one uncle.

My hobbies are view soccer in the TV, especially when play Colo Colo or the Chilean National Team. My favourite player is the greatest of all times… Matías Fernández.

I too love listen cumbia, in my house, in the bus, in the street, etcetera. And too view concerts of cumbia. My favourite group of cumbia is Noche de Brujas (who gave the name to this blog).

Also, I like so much play with my pets and drink beer or wine with my friends or with my mom and 

my family.
